The cover issue of Motor Trend with 6 cars and something close to 6000hp got me thinking. What are some great cars that don't even break the 100hp barrier? Cars that you have to work at to get moving, but still are a blast to drive.
I'll kick things off with the obvious:

Even a top of the line Cooper S with the 1071 motor only put out 70hp on a good day. However, there aren't many enthusiasts who would think twice about taking one for a drive.

Why does this picture look like a model kit? Something is weird about the snow, and maybe the camera lens.

The reason model kit photos look so weird is that the model is small enough to fit inside the entire depth of field of the lens on the camera, but the foreground and background are extremely blurry. For whatever reason this photo has been modified to simulate that effect, most likely to draw attention towards the car and away from the background.

50-80bhp depending on spec.. Even modified ones rarely get over 100bhp.
Rear drive, 700cc 3 cylinder turbo engine. Petrol(gas) and diesel versions available.

The 1996-1997 b4 Passat TDI also had 90hp. With the larger 18 gallon fuel tank (sized to give acceptable cruising range with the thirsty VR6 engine), it went a long distance between fuel stops.
The 1988-1991 Honda Civic and CRX had 92hp in most versions, but only about 2100 pounds to haul around. That generation introduced the sporty handling double wishbone suspension at all four corners.

Is the car in the picture a stock DX trim model?
From what I remember, the DX trim Civics and CRXs of that generation had black unpainted bumpers, mirrors, and door handles (painted bumpers, mirrors, and door handles were used on higher trims like LX, Si, and 4WD wagon). Of course, the bumpers could be a repaint job anyway, since even the trims with painted bumpers had the black strip.
