I have some cancer rust in the bed of my caddy

and I searched in here but to no avail couldnt find what I was looking for.

is there any sort of replacement lower bed sheet metal?

I found a place years ago that would distribute like a ribbed sheetmetal to w/e size you wanted so you could cut out your old, and just weld in the new.

      Anybody know of anything?

      Thanks in advance!!!!

hope you all have a fun weekend.

that would be your best bet there. I did that with the rear piece that is just above where the stock exhaust exits. I would not have been able to patch this spot without a donor vehicle.

      For Sale:
      - 2.5", 3", 3.5" rear drop plates, best price on the vortex
      - Rear Spindle spacers (1/2" and 3/8")
      PM me for more info.

So can the whole bed floor have the spot welds removed and replace the floor with new (possibly a generic ribbed steel) sheet? Are the only welds that hold it in the ones visible along the sides of the floor or are there more on the underside beneath all of the undercoating?

basically when i get a guy on here to cut his out (which is in the works) Im just going to cut mine out in the same area's and weld in the new one and do a rhino liner on the bottem to act like the undercoat and then il just rhino line the whole topside too
its going to take some work but its like the worst thing about the truck and then when i Fix that I wont be worried about standing or setting anything in the bed

The bed in my caddy is pretty much shot too. Dents, dings and rust. I had an 80 caddy whose bed was near mint (just some surface rust). It has been cut out and the plan is to weld it in to replace the craptacular one. Little nervous about cutting out such a large section, especially since it's a unibody. But should be ok if braces are welded across the top to keep things in line and the axle perches aren't touched.

You should be able to take any good, thick gauge sheet and weld it in, or even the bed of another truck if you can't find a caddy to cut up. You will need to relocate the shock mounts along w/the gas tank mounts if you went with something other than VW... Anything can be done w/patience and planning.

There the ones on the side but there are two in every gulley for every cross member that goes acrossed the truck. Also a row acrossed the back edge and along the front edge. There are a lot of them, look for the little divots or sand the paint a little and you will see them. Once it's 'loose' you still have to pry it off the seam sealer. Remember taking the front fenders off(if you have) same issue. It's possible. Took me 3 evenings.
