Thread: Need ECU Pin Configuration Diagram for b5 '99 passat 1.8T

    1. 02-12-2009 01:34 PM #1
No spark to #2 spark plug wire and before I replace the ECU want to make sure that it isn't a severed spark plug wire (have already checked the coil pack, spark plug and injector..)

Does anyone know where I might go to find which pin it is at the end of the wiring harness which connects directly into the back of the ECU??

      Thanks in advance!

i would take the signal wire on that particular coil pack (the thinest wire) and unhook your ecu.. and probe all of it.. if u cant find a diagram.. all u gotta do it hook one end to the coil pack connector and then quickly go over each pin on the ecu harness end

The wiring is going on T121 :

      Coil 1 T121 102 sw/bl
      Coil 2 T121 95 sw/ge
      Coil 3 T121 103 sw/br
      Coil 4 T121 94 sw/Li

      Hey Paulus,

I am having the exact same issue on the same cylinder. Car just suddenly started to run rough and I figured it was the coil pack so I bought 4 new ones only to find the issue remained. So I swapped the plugs (needed it anyway) and still the same issue. Nothing is firing in that cylinder and using the voltage tester I get 14v on the middle & outside pins but on the 2 outer pins I get nothing while the other 3 plug's outer pins each get .5v. So that .5V is making all the difference but how? The wires look perfect going into the plug but of course are all sheathed the rest of the way. Do you know of a wiring diagram so I know which pins you speak of to test for continuity? Cheers

Ah I now see a common issue with the 2nd cylinder. It is the ICM that is to blame. Tested the continuity across the 5 and 4 pins and sure enough there is a dead diode. The 2nd cylinder is controlled via the ICM/Ignition Amplifier Module/Output Stage...not cheap but they can be had for $70 CAN on fleaBay.
